More Details | Hayden House has a study room for group projects to sketch out assignments on the white board. The den has couches and chairs for you and your friends to hang out and talk about the Cyclone game, play a game of cards, or just relax. Each house’s bathroom has individual shower stalls that have a place for changing. A water bottle refill station promotes the Department of Residence’s green initiatives. |
House History
Ada Hayden was the first woman to earn a Doctor of Philosophy degree at Iowa State in 1918. She was on the Iowa State staff for 40 years in the Botany Department and was also named Curator of the Herbarium. During her time at Iowa State she added more than 40,000 specimens to the herbarium. The Ada Hayden Heritage Park Lake in Ames is named in her honor.
