House History
Edna O’Bryan (1883-1968) graduated from Missouri State Teachers in 1912. She also received a diploma from the Pratt Institute of New York in 1918. She came to Iowa State as an instructor of applied art in 1925, was made a professor in 1945, and became professor emeritus in 1966. She also served as acting head of the department from 1944 to 1948. She was an inspiring teacher at Iowa State for 39 years.
