House History
Named for Blair Converse (1893-1939). He joined the staff of Technical Journalism (now Journalism and Mass Communication) in 1919 and served as head of the department from 1927 to 1939. He served on many important University Committees: Athletic Council, Adviser to the President, Board of Directors of the Memorial Union and was also adviser to several student organizations. He served as president of the American Association of Teachers of Journalism in 1937.
