Residence Hall Open Houses During Orientation

During the OnCyte Orientation in June, the Department will host five open houses in our residence halls to give students a chance to see a representative room and learn more about what each area has to offer. The open house locations are:

  • Helser: Traditional-style Hall for Friley and Helser residents
  • Buchanan: Suite-style building for Buchanan, Martin and Eaton residents.
  • Geoffroy: Traditional-style Hall.
  • Roberts: Traditional-style Hall for Birch, Welch, Roberts, Barton, Lyon, Freeman, Oak-Elm and Linden residents.
  • Willow: Traditional-style Hall for Maple, Willow and Larch residents.

Stop by any of these locations from 10 a.m. to noon during orientation. Staff members will be on hand to answer any questions.

Unfortunately, we are not able to showcase all of our spaces during orientation. Tours are not available in any other locations or outside the 10 a.m. to noon timeframe. Please do not enter buildings or areas that are not clearly marked and specified as tour locations.

There are short video tours of all our halls available on our website. In addition, some of our halls have a new virtual tour option, which gives a 360° view throughout the building.

Please note: There are several construction projects happening across campus. Please be mindful while walking through these areas.

Visit the DOR at the Resource Fair

Come find us at the resource fair during your OnCyte Orientation visit. Organizations from across campus will set up booths to provide a “one-stop shop” for information during orientation in June.

The fair runs from 10 a.m. to noon during Day Two sessions of the OnCyte Orientation at the Student Innovation Center. We’ll be located on the second floor (just follow the red arrows).

We can help answer questions about your room assignment, provide resources and tips for move in and give you a peek at the furniture you’ll find in your room. Or just come and pick up some cool swag.
