Facility Services
Facility Services employs 146 full time, part time and student employees, making it the largest DOR staff team. Why do we need such a big staff? The Facility Services team is responsible for maintaining the structure, appearance and safety of all DOR facilities. This includes 19 residence halls, two residential commons, 165 on-campus apartment buildings, two apartment community centers, all DOR staff offices and many ISU Dining locations. In total, we are responsible for over 2,900,00 square feet!

The Facilities Services team also works closely with the ISU offices of Facilities Planning and Management and Environmental Health and Safety.
Requests for Custodial or Maintenance Service
Requests for maintenace and custodial services in the residence halls and on-campus apartments are processed by the staff in our Service Center. Located at 347 Helser Hall, the Service Center is staffed Monday - Friday from 7:00 am - 7:00 pm and Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. The Service Center is closed on University holidays.
All non-emergency requests should be submitted through the on-line work order system. When you submit your request, you will receive a reference number. This number will allow you to follow-up on your request, so hang on to it.
For emergency requests, please call the Service Center at 515-294-3322. After hours, you will hear a message with detailed instructions on how to receive assistance to resolve your emergency
