Officials report Ames water is safe for consumption
The City of Ames reported on Sunday afternoon that the “boil” alert is over and water quality has been restored. Officials made the announcement after numerous water samples came back free of harmful bacteria. Water can be consumed and used as normal on campus and throughout the city.
“We’re delighted to share that water quality has been restored and water is now safe for consumption,” said Director of the Department of Residence Pete Englin. “Special thanks to City of Ames Public Works team for so quickly repairing and testing the system.”
