Fall 2012 Move-In Process
The exact move-in process you will go through when you arrive depends on your assignment. Select one of the following links for specific information: Residence Hall Move-In, On-Campus Apartment Move-In
Residence Hall Move-In
- New Student Move-In = Tues., Aug. 14 and Wed., Aug. 15 - based on your room number.
- Returning Student Move-In = Thurs., August 16
Please note that these dates are when your move-in BEGINS. Move-in continues through the first day of classes. Also, move-in will not start earlier on these days than is advertised. So you don’t need to arrive early to "beat the rush".
If you arrive prior to your scheduled mone-in date, you will likely be charged for Early Arrival.
A NOTE ON TRAFFIC: During move-in, on-campus traffic is routed in specific directions in and around each residential area. Street signs will be displayed and volunteers will be directing traffic within parking lots. Traffic can be fairly heavy at times, but the system works smoothly with everyone's patience and cooperation.
-
Step One: Get Parked
-
New Students = You
will receive a parking pass in the mail prior to arriving on campus.
Prior to coming to campus, fill your pass out and keep it handy.
DON'T PACK IT!
- If you lose your pass or change your move-in day - don't worry. We'll have extras when you get here. The parking pass is only needed Aug. 14 and 15. If you are moving in any other day, you do not need a special pass.
- At the entrance of your building's parking lot you will be greeted by a traffic coordinator who will ask for your parking pass and will fill out your designated move-in time limit. Once the traffic coordinator gives your parking pass back to you, place it on your dashboard and enter the lot.
- You will have 30 minutes to check-in and unload your items. When your time expires, we ask that you be kind to others and move your vehicle to long-term parking (maps will be provided at move-in).
- Returning Students = You know the drill. When you get here, find a parking spot near your building, check-in, and - as a courtesy to others - move your car to the stadium lot when you are finished unloading.
