Recycling in the residence halls and apartment complexes is made easy for everyone! If you live in a residence hall, you have access to blue recycling bins which are located in a community location on your floor. Each floor has a recycling chair which is in charge of bringing the recycling from the blue bins out the CyCytes. This means, your only job is to collect recycling, rinse containers and then place the recycling in the labeled blue bins. You will be able to recycle redeemables, plastics, paper and wetboard. If you are a person living in the apartment complexes, you are able to bring your recycling right to the CyCytes. CyCytes are single sort green bins and there are many objects that you can recycle (see signs in and around the apartment community on what you can and can’t recycle.)

Tips for successful recycling:

1. Don’t let your recycling build up. Bring it to your bins on a regular basis.

2. Create a recycling box in your room where you can store recycling until you are able to bring it to the bins.

3. Rinse out all containers to prevent pest problems.

4. Let your recycling chair know if the bins become full.

5. Think before you throw something away. Many things that you would normally throw away can actually be recycled!
